NSF Approval

First, NSF International
National Health Foundation (National Sanitation Foundation, NSF) was founded in 1944, is an independent, not-for-profit non-governmental organizations. NSF is committed to public health, safety, environmental protection in the field of standard setting, product testing and certification services, is the field of public health and safety authority.
NSF has a number of independent laboratories, physical performance and functionality can be tested, chemical analysis, toxicology analysis and microbiological testing. NSF professionals including public health, food safety, water quality and environment, have extensive experience of engineers, chemists, toxicologists, public health scientists and computer scientists. NSF certification issued by American National Standards Institute (ANSI) and Standards Council of Canada (SCC) recognized.
NSF as a neutral third party on the United States and certified by international standards, including the American National Standards Institute (ANSI), the United States Occupational Safety and Health Administrative Office, the Canadian National Standards Board and other 13 countries or industry authority approval and certification organization. NSF is a World Health Organization (WHO) food safety and the safety of drinking water and disposal of the designated collaborating centers.
NSF in 80 different countries for the 4000 and 8000 factory service companies, more than 25,000 kinds of HVAC products certified, registered more than 3500 management and environmental systems, more than 20,000 times the annual plant audit.
The significance of NSF Logo: NSF in industry and consumer groups has a good reputation; national legislative bodies and government agencies in the highly recognized; NSF logo are recognized around the world; in the following areas is a WHO collaborating centers: water safety and handling , food safety and indoor environment. Authorized products bearing the NSF mark means that the product was confirmed in the following aspects:
1, can reach the product manual annotation ability to eliminate impurities;
2, the material composition of the product will not be in the process of dealing with water added to the water pollution component;
3, consistent with the design and production process requirements;
4, there is no structure and function of product defects;
5, advertisement, sample data and identity authentication standard shown to be true and accurate.

NSF certification system for people in the consumer and manufacturing units is of great significance. By the NSF and the government agreed to this public recognition of credible, objective and independent third-party monitoring organization, has been tested and test products to verify compliance with specific standards, which represents forward to the identity of the product is rigorously tested and is there for consumers guaranteed. NSF certification system for all units involved must read the test, test, and a third-party inspection / audit, manufacturing unit production product must be in accordance with open standards. Standards, including standards related to product manufacturing, materials, design, process and so on.
At the same time, NSF mandatory if a company is to be printed on the product NSF logo, you must comply with NSF certification and authorization of the strict requirements. These requirements include the start and periodic testing and evaluation, or even surprise-style checks. If you find that identity is misused, or product does not comply with the demand, NSF may take the products seizure and inventory of goods seized, or even destruction of substandard products, blacklisting, there to take the recall, legal action, public notice, cancel certification, etc., or other harsh action. NSF represents the interests of all, people in the control OK, consumer behavior and production of manufacturing units, monitoring policies for implementation and certification authority.

Second, related laws and regulations
1 U.S. Safe Drinking Water Act requires that all products used in the United States shall not exceed 8% of lead; requirements lead and other water devices must meet the standards NSF61 precipitation of lead; U.S. 43 states require contact with drinking water products must NSF Standard 61 by the test.
2 American HVAC piping code: There are two main criteria IPC (International HVAC piping code International Plumbing Code) and UPC (uniform heating pipe specification Uniform Plumbing Code). Specification requirements which products can be used and what standards must be consistent.
3 HVAC piping specification standard example:
Leading - specifications meet the ASME A112.18.1/CSA B125.1 and NSF-61 / 9;
Shower valves - specifications comply with ASSE 1016 or CAS B125;
Copper - meet ASTM B88;
Plastic pipes and fittings - meet NSF Standard 14.
