Enhanced Quality and Value
Show your customers that your windows and doors meet stringent performance standards with the AAMA Certification Label which tells them that
  • A sample of the unit passed required performance tests for resistance to air leakage, water penetration and wind pressure
  • Performance tests were conducted at an independent AAMA-accredited lab
  • Individual components used in the window and door have passed their own separate performance tests in order to be eligible for use in an AAMA-certified window or door
  • The manufacturer has certified that production line units are built to the same specifications as the sample unit that was tested
  • Manufacturing plant production lines, component inventory, and quality control records are checked annually through two surprise inspections by an independent third-party Validator
Competitive Advantage
Offer your customers what your competitors don’t – the confidence of AAMA Certification. The stringent AAMA Certification Program procedures assure your customers that the products selected, when installed properly, match the quality of the sample product tested.
The AAMA Certification Program is the only program in the window and door industry that requires that components used in the finished window and door assembly pass their own set of performance tests. The program also requires the use of AAMA-accredited labs so that tests are performed by qualified, experienced professionals using properly calibrated equipment. And two surprise manufacturing plant inspections every year offer that added quality assurance that translates to peace of mind.
More Referrals
But don't stop at offering quality products. Proper installation can go a long way in achieving total customer satisfaction. The AAMA InstallationMasters™ Program is a two-day intensive training and certification program based on industry-accepted best practices. Provide your customers with quality products installed by trained professionals and watch your business grow through increased referrals and fewer callbacks.
Thermal Performance - AAMA Silver Label
These days, everyone is looking to save energy and take advantage of tax credits being offered by the government. The AAMA Certification Program can help.
Manufacturers may certify product thermal performance to either the AAMA 1503 test method or to the National Fenestration Rating Council (NFRC) requirements (NRFC-100) without the prerequisite of Gold Label certification for basic structural, air and water performance requirements. Products tested for thermal performance only are authorized to bear the AAMA Silver Certification Label.
In cases where the product has been authorized for certification for basic structural, air and water performance as well as thermal performance, an AAMA Gold Label with an additional tab indicating thermal certification is used.

What Can AAMA Do for Your Organization?
As a material-neutral organization, AAMA proactively and effectively influences codes, construction and specification issues. In addition, AAMA is active and influential in the Western and Southeast regions of the U.S. With this kind of local, grass roots representation, AAMA provides focus and direction on issues that are of special concern in these areas of the country.
In addition, AAMA began offering the original third-party product certification program over 40 years ago to provide manufacturers with the means to independently demonstrate product performance to their customers via the AAMA Certification Label.
Standards and Code Activities
AAMA members develop and update the standards that are referenced in many national and state building codes. AAMA is actively involved in the International Code Council (ICC) Code Adoptions each year both in the code content as well as the ways that the codes are applied and the manner in which they affect the industry. We are also actively involved in the International Residential Code (IRC), International Building Code (IBC), International Green Construction Code (IgCC) and International Energy Conservation Code (IECC). On both a regional and national basis, AAMA continuously monitors and reports legislative activities to keep members up to date on important developments. We are committed to keeping our members up-to-date on regulatory and codes information and ensuring that our collective voice is heard.
